The Doctor turned around the corner of the alley way and walked straight into two clowns. The male clown pulled out a gun and pointed it at the Doctor's head.
"Yoo hoo guess what I've got?" The Joker pulled back the hammer.
"Oooh Mr. J are you going to kill him?"
"Ssh now Harley girl you're spoiling the surprise."
The Doctor looked left and right. There was nowhere to escape. Suddenly there was a whoosh of air and the gun was knocked out of the clowns hand.
"Oh sucker whoever did that prepare to be dead already." The Joker pulled out an absurdly large machine gun.
"Mr. J it's the Bat!" Harley Quinn squeaked and pointed at the shadowy figure.
"Another time Batsie." The Joker ran for it, dragging Harley Quinn behind him.
Batman swooped down to see if the civilian needed any aid.
"Thank you er..."
"Batman."
"Yes thank you. I really don't like guns. I'm the Doctor by the way. You haven't seen a blue box around here by any chance?"
"I believe they took it down to police headquarters."
"It's vital they don't open it. There's something very nasty inside it."
"A bomb?"
"No, worse than that. Bernice before her first cup of coffee."

Benny found herself sitting opposite a fat American detective who was trying to pin every unsolved crime on her.
"I'm telling you I can't be guilty."
"And why's that toots?"
"Because I haven't been born yet?"
"A smart alec as well, are we?"
"Who's Alec? I know an Alexis and a Xaviar."
"Come on, spill the beans, confess."
Commissioner Gordon entered the interrogation room. "Okay, she's free to go."
Benny was reunited with the Doctor. "Doctor, who's you're tall, dark and handsome friend?" She stared dreamily at Batman's cowl.
"Ah Benny, there you are. This is Batman, he saved me from being killed by someone called the Joker."
Commissioner Gordon spilled his coffee. "The Joker has struck again?"
Batman growled. "Yes. The first national bank. He escaped with Harley Quinn and a million dollars."
"Oh no they didn't." Batgirl and Nightwing showed off the clown prince of crime and Harley. "We found them while on patrol. Simple swoop and capture."
"It's a fair cop yer honour. I plead for mercy."
"Not yet Harley, wait for the trial."
"Sure thing Mr. J."
"She needed restraining." Batgirl tried to hide the large section of lead pipe.
"Well there's no reason to stay here anymore Benny, our work is done." The Doctor produced the TARDIS key and unlocked it. Benny entered first followed by the Doctor.
Everyone in the room gasped as the box wavered and vanished.
"Where have they gone?" Bullock asked.
"Somewhere safer I hope." Batgirl replied sagely.
"Somehow I don't think so." Batman concluded. "He seemed the type to attract trouble and yet remain safe."
